Trip Down Memory Lane

For Amusement Only: the life and death of the American arcade | The Verge.

Man, I spent a frightening amount of money on video games as a kid.  I remember dedicated family friendly arcades like Time Out, Park Place, and Cyberstation (which I even worked at briefly.)

I also rather enjoyed Kahunaville, which was an earlier attempt at arcade, restaurant, bar/nightclub mashup.  The games were OK, the food wasn’t worth the money, and I never stuck around for drinks.

There’s rumors that the modern arcade/bar mashup is coming soon to Destiny USA.  Might be worth a trip.
