  • Chicken and Shrimp ala Maria

Some how we got the recipe to Santengelo’s famous Chicken and Shrimp ala Maria.  Its been sitting in the file for a long time, ready to be tested. A lot of steps and a lot of pots and pans, but oh so worth it.  A definite repeat.

  • Oh yeah, that’s OCD

I’m always getting yelled at at home for not organizing our silverware when emptying the dishwasher.  The Mrs. giggled with glee when I showed her the slightly over the top organization of these forks at Pastabilities.

  • Does Not Compute

Front of package says 5 minutes.  First step, fill with water and let stand for 12 minutes.  Foo. At least they were pretty good.

  • Current Status

    Overpriced, but oh so tasty.

  • Coming Soon: Crepe & Gelato Boulevard?

Spotted on the way in to work this morning… Not much to report on their website yet. If you didn’t recognize it, that’s the old Happy Endings Coffeehouse storefront on Clinton St.  Oh the memories.  Met my wife there 15 years ago, played many gaves of gin with pals, and drank way too many cups…

  • Complete Guide to Dry-Aging Beef

The Food Lab’s Complete Guide to Dry-Aging Beef at Home | Serious Eats. Fascinating details.  If only I had a spare room in my fridge to experiment with.

  • Sam Adams, take me away…

White Lantern?  Hello, where have you been?  Tasty stuff.   By description, sounds kinda like Blue Moon, but more crisp.

  • 4th Meal

Luke wakes up hungry if he doesn’t have mid evening snack.  Tonight its 1/2 a cup of oatmeal, a handful of cheerios, and a handful of goldfish crackers.

  • Pig in a Pinwheel

Again from the [amazon_link id=”B000RK718W” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]A Man, a Can, a Plan[/amazon_link] cook book.  Tasty little buggers.  There’s also a pig in blank for Jilly hiding in there.

  • Where have you been all my life?

After knowing about chicken and waffles (seeing them a zillion times on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives) I finally got around to making some last night.  Nothing scratch made (Wegmans waffle mix and frozen chicken bites), but yum, none-the-less.  Not sure I’ll be able to ever eat waffles without chicken again.
