Normally, I like to use a big monitor, or even better multiple monitors. At home, its a 23" screen. At the office, its a pair of 20" screens. But, over the last few days, I’ve gotta a lot of work done on my Mac’s small by comparison 13" screen. Gestures for multiple desktop access and Mission Control are finally sinking in.

Today, I tried 2 hours on, 1 hour off, rather stand up until I could stand no more. I think that’s probably the better way to go. I was somewhat less, sore at the end of the shift.

Not directly stand up related, but I’m really enjoying working on OSX. Ubuntu (with the Cinnamon desktop) is great, but the OSX tools are just so easy on the eyes.

Think I might pull the trigger on this budget stand up desk.

Quick Stand Up Working Observations

In no particular order:

The window side of my office is much warmer than the side that I normally sit on.

Standing up is tiring.

I stood about 5 of 8 hours.

I couldn’t keep my eyes open at 8pm.

Having the window in my direct field of vision is less distracting than I would have guessed.

Day two begins.

How much time should you spend automating a routine task?

How much time should you spend automating a routine task? - Boing Boing.
