Giant Homer. An over the top movie kick off stunt.
Beer and Doughnut Ice Cream? You betcha! Ben and Jerry are bringing you Duff and D’oh Nuts.
7-11 to Quik-E-Mart Conversions. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve already see how they’ve converted some 7-11’s into real Quik-E-Marts. My buddy in Mountain View says one of the stores right near him was changed over.
Real World Simpsons Products. Yep, the 7-11’s sell Krusty-Ohs and Buzz Cola. Of course, I had to go buy myself some Buzz Cola on Ebay.

Can’t wait until next Friday. Simpsons on the big screen is gonna be amazing.

Heard about a guy who tests his hard core kitchen blenders by blending items that you normally wouldn’t on one of the Twit podcasts a while ago. Finally saw a link to the site go flying by on digg. willitblend.com is a riot. Golf balls, hockey pucks, light bulbs, cell phones, and ipod? You name it, they’ll blend it. The host, Tom Dickson, is cool in a PC guy type of way. ‘scuse me as I get back to watching these over and over, giggling the whole way through.

Slickr, by cellar door software gives you a photo screen saver that scrolls through your (or everybody’s) flickr photos. Cool pan/zoom/fade effects kinda like the similar screen saver on OSX. Bonus, if you have a dual monitor rig, it shows different slide shows on each screen. Check it out.

Nothing beats a 3d racing game where you have three ways to win:

Beat all the opponent cars. Nothing special here.
Destroy all the opponent cars. Crash ’em, smash ’em, push ’em off cliffs, push them into land mines.
Kill all pedestrians. Yep, give up racing completely and just run people over.

Yep, that’s Carmageddon, the ‘Racing Game for the Chemically Imbalanced’ in a nutshell. I’ve been a fan since version 1.0. The newer editions are fun, but the I think the original is still the best. I could play all day, everyday.

Ah, harkening back to the days of my youth, I remember the Nintendo Entertainment System had a ton of cool alternative controllers like the PowerPad (kinda the grand daddy of the Dance Dance Revolution), the PowerGlove, and the funky Uforce (infrared motion detectors). I thought some of the controller ideas were kinda neat, but they never really had great game support in my opinion.

Saw the Flybar Model 1200 on amazon.com; the pogo stick, evolved. So what’s so special about this $299 toy? Thrusters! Activate all 12 of the independent rubber thrusters and you’re capable of rebounding with 1200 pounds of force! They claim its enough to get a 170 pound person 5 feet off the ground. That’s pretty hard core! I’d add one to my Amazon.com wishlist, but I’m afraid of all the broken bones that would ensue, hehe…

This crafty fellow put together his own Sony Playstation 2 portable using the guts of a one of the new low profile PS2 consoles, a PSONE LCD screen, and portable DVD player battery. It also has one major perk over the real Playstation Portable (coming soon from Sony), in that it plays PS2 software; the PSP will have its own new software. I could imagine all the extra Ratchet & Clank playtime I’d log if I had one of these. Very slick. I only wish I had the time to mess around with kind of stuff.
