Site Updates 2026-10-31

Mostly just administrivia:

• I had Claude do a security scan. Site was in pretty good shape, but suggested I tuned up some Apache config items and add CSP rules to make client side features more secure.
• I now use Hugo’s built in image processing tools to convert/resize/strip images in blog posts. Previously I did some stuff manually and with a MacOS shortcut. An unexpected side effect was Claude outputting 2 images sizes for better responsive handling between desktop and mobile. Nice!
• Putting the new image processing pipeline in place revealed a lot of (mostly old) posts that had broken images, for multiple reasons. I fixed what I could and purged the broken images otherwise.
• I’m retiring Song of the Day posts for now. In their current form, they’re a little too manual to put together everyday. In their place, you’ll get periodic Recent Spotify Favorites posts instead. These posts are put together with an automation that scrapes them off my favorites playlist.
