Ford Focus Battery Replacement

So, battery in Mrs’ car is dead. Not super surprising, its a few years old and its been super hot lately. I can jump it and it fires right up.

I went over to the O’reilly a few block away. Yeah, I need a new battery. Ok, lets see what we’ve got. Oh, no… I can check your battery, but I can’t replace it.

Never noticed before but in Ford Focus, the battery is behind the engine, tucked under the wiper cowl. So, much so, they give you an auxiliary negative post for jumping.

So, its a not a straightforward battery swap operation. You need move a bunch of wiring and the air box to make space.

O’reilly nopes out of that, too much opportunity for things to go awry.

So, I guess its off to Walmart today to see if they’ll do it in their Free Install with Battery Purchase deal.
