New Year, New Host

Monday, February 6th, 2006

I’m in the process of moving from Globat to DreamHost. Ability to host multiple domains out of one account was the primary motivator. Now, maybe I’ll actually work on some content instead of having to keep up with all the hosting bills. Stay tuned!

Oh yeah! Its on…

As you’ve probably noticed by now, the site looks a lot nicer than it did the last time you visited. Welcome to jasoncrowther.com version 3.0. No HTML tables we harmed or used in the new layout (check the source if you don’t believe it).

The new layout is 100% CSS based. After years of doing layout with tables, I was ready for a change. I’m not 100% up on CSS yet, so I’m not as fast as doing stuff with tables, but I can really appreciate how much better CSS is; even though more than once I had to spend an hour or two trying to track down a single inheritted attribute glitch.

Not everything is up to snuff just yet, so please bear with me as I roll out more new and improved site features in the coming weeks.

Gallery Update

All the pictures from our honeymoon in Maui have been uploaded. I’ve got titles and captions done for most of them, with a gallery or two to go. Check ‘em out.

Photography Gallery Coming Soon

Thursday, July 15th, 2004

I’ve been hunting around for a gallery manager tool to catalog all the pictures from the honeymoon and all the other misc. photos that I have on my harddrive at the moment. After sifting through the lot of gallery tools at Source Forge, I eventually found Coppermine. Its very easy to set up and very configurable; it amazes me just how good open source software can be. I started hooking things up locally and uploading some images, here’s what I’ve got so far.

Next on the list is a forum. I’m leaning toward phpBB. Any others I should check out?
