Shutter – Linux Screen Capture Tool

Recently, I spotted Shutter as feature app on the Ubuntu Software Center.  I been mildly interested in something a little fancier than the gnome capture tool or the screen capture feature built into gimp.

After only a bit of learning curve, I really started to like Shutter.  The primary utility provide is being able to capture a screen shots back to back then triage them in a batch later.  Much nicer when you’re trying to document steps in a process.

Also welcome is a decent simple image editor for highlighting and annotating the captures.  It also has features to easily push captures out to a myriad of different sharing services.  I haven’t much use for that, yet, anyway.

While not quite as pretty or slick as Skitch on Mac, it gets the job done all the same.  Worth a look.
