Hush Technologies specializes in fanless PC designs for noise conscious applications like living room PVRs. Their latest effort looks pretty sweet. Unfortunately, at about $2500, I’ll be sticking to my plan of building my own open source based PVR on an old Dell box using MythTV.

Next Time I’m Rich…
Here are some awesome (both in terms of beauty and expense) prints of Pink Floyd artwork at RockOptic (like the name!)
On their site they also have some background stuff on the artist who does Pink Floyd’s memorable album covers, Storm Thorgerson. A new random factoid for me was he also did the Peter Gabriel’s melty face album cover. The effect was done by smooshing a polaroid photo as it was developing. Way cool!
Festerhead Radio
Stumbled on the Festerhead online radio station this morning. Was looking for some good Hawaiian music (missing Maui, sniff…) Usually I tune into Hawaiian 105, which I listened to alot when tooling around Maui. But some reason their crappy streaming applet cuts out continually on my internet connection at work (but works fine from Road Runner at home…)
Festerhead is good old fashioned rock. They have a live DJ, but they’ve only broken in once in the last 30 minutes. I didn’t really mind since he was announcing the Is There Anybody Out There Hour, where they play Pink Floyd for an hour straight. Now that’s what I’m talking about! Maholo!
Happy Halloween: 1upkin
For all you Super Mario Brothers fans out there, here’s a step by step guide for carving your own 1up mushroom on a pumpkin:

Where do these people find the time?
Now that’s Extreme PC Modding…
Check this out, some one using a radiator from a Toyota Corolla in his liquid CPU cooler rig:
